These vineyards date back to colonial times. The fermentation of the grape juice in large clay caldrons (tinajas) gave rise to the name of the winery: Tabontinaja. Today the up-to-date facilities and sophisticated phytosanitary monitoring equipment vouch for the modern process. Pioneer in the agroturistic activities, it has an agro-resort that takes the visitors on a mystical journey around wine and the ecology that surrounds the vineyards.
